The GalGael Trust are expanding their teaching in traditional boatbuilding by running a new programme in partnership with the Clyde Maritime Trust. The programme will focus on the teaching of heritage boatbuilding skills through the restoration and construction of traditional wooden boats. The Partnership have secured funding for the project from the Heritage Grants programme of the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). This will allow for a three-year project that will take place in both of the partner’s workshops. In total, the project will produce four new heritage vessels and restore a fifth vessel, with over two hundred people receiving training.
